Following an emergency meeting on the coronavirus, Jerusalem Mayor Moshe Leon announced, Thursday, that starting on Sunday, until further notice, offices of all municipal departments will be closed to the public, and services for residents will be provided online through the municipality's website, through the 106 call center, and in the Al-Tor (no line) boxes located in the municipality.

Staffing of the 106 hotline will be increased, including a dedicated line for welfare issues with emphasis on the elderly and at-risk groups. Senior centers in community centers are going on vacation. Group activities will not take place but individual activity will continue usual. All educational frameworks will continue with regular activities, with disinfectants, alcohol-gel, will be distributed to all schools starting Sunday to increase personal hygiene and reduce the likelihood of infection.
