The military tribunal indicted three officers in connection with the death of Sergeant Eviatar Yosefi during the Naval Paratroopers' Navigation exercise in the area of Hilazon Creek, January 2019.

The battalion commander, an officer holding rank of lieutenant colonel, will confess and be convicted of the offense of non-compliance with the military's mandatory instructions. The squad commander, a lieutenant who has already been discharged from the IDF, will confess and be convicted of negligence.

The plea bargains are subject to Military Tribunal approval. For two other officers, the mission and platoon commanders, the hearing proceedings have ended and decisions will be taken shortly.
