Defense Minister Naftali Bennett on Monday approved the "Sovereignty Road" project - a route that will connect the Arab village of Azzim, near Ma'aleh Adumim, with the Arab villages on the other side of the area (Anata, Hizma and Ram).
This is a separate road for Arabs in Area E1, which aims to separate the transport continuum between the Palestinian Arab and Israeli population in the area, allowing Arab vehicles to move without crossing inside the Ma'aleh Adum bloc, near Jewish communities.
On the political level, the road will connect Jerusalem and Ma'aleh Adumim and enable construction of Jewish settlement in Area E1. On the transport level, the road will ease traffic congestion, adding to improved quality of life for Ma'aleh Adumim residents and the surrounding area.
