Lapid: Every effort being made to establish Gantz-led gov't

Blue and White MK Yair Lapid claimed that the election results indicate that the Israeli public is opposed to Prime Minister Netanyahu, and that he will not be able to [continue] serving if indicted.

"[This marks] Netanyahu's third failure in a row. As he has often said, "the majority rules" and the majority has ruled that he cannot [avoid punishment] through the ballot box and cannot [continue in the role of] prime minister while facing indictments," Lapid stated.

''Every effort is being made to establish as wide a [coalition] as possible under the leadership of Benny Gantz. We thank the Election Committee for its efforts and will do everything possible to avoid a fourth election," he concluded.
