Yaakov Ben Shemesh has appealed to the Supreme Court to deny Benjamin Netanyahu a mandate to form the next government. Ben Shemesh, chairman of the Movement for Quality Government in Israel, claims that the formation of a government by someone who has been criminally indicted has "no basis in either law or ethics." Ben Shemesh has also set up a protest tent outside the residence of Reuven Rivlin, the President of Israel, who has the last word on selecting the individual most able, based on elections results, to form a government.
