Sheikh Kamal Al-Khatib, deputy leader of the Islamic Movement in Israel, has warned of an Israeli attempt to take over the Al-Aqsa Mosque in Jerusalem after the Knesset elections. In an interview cited by Quds Press, Khatib said an increase in the number of restraining orders from the Al-Aqsa Mosque and the "break-ins" at the mosque was felt after the publication of the "deal of the century" and is underway in preparation for the implementation of the century-deals clauses related to the Temple Mount.

He added, "After the elections, we will see the implementation of the decisive stages of the century deal, especially with regard to the Al-Aqsa Mosque, in accordance with the threats of (Prime Minister) Netanyahu and the rightists supporting him to implement it after their victory," Khatib noted Blue and White Chaiman Benny Gantz has undertaken to implement the US plan if elected to form the next government and warned that the sentence of movement leader Raed Salah was intended to prepared the ground for implementation of the US plan.
