Submission of plans for Shomron Gate - the largest industrial area in Judea and Samaria - was approved on Thursday by the Supreme Planning Council of the Civil Administration for Judea and Samaria.
The 3,000-dunam/750-acre area will spread north and south of Highway 5, next to the Sibal Industrial Park near the Rosh Haayin East Interchange and include about two million square meters built mainly for the high-tech industry. Education, office buildings, sports complexes, trade, tourism, high-tech, will also be built on this area. There will also be low-tech, heavy and light industrial plants, and a transport terminal for residents of the area with a connection to Route 5 and the Israel Railways. The industrial area is expected to be one of the most sought after, due to its proximity to Tel Aviv and the center of the country.
