About 400,000 people with voting rights are considering not reaching the polls on Election Day, for fear of being infected with the coronavirus, according to a survey commissioned by the Public Relations and Strategic Advisory firm "Rimon-Cohen".

Those surveyed were asked: "Are you considering or not considering giving up your right to vote and not reaching the ballot box on Election Day due to concern about the coronavirus?"

6.5% answered yes. This percentage, out of some 6.4 million people with the right to vote in Israel, constitutes over 400,000 voters. Most apprehensions are shared by the young in two age groups: 18-24 - 13.1% are apprehensive, and among the 25-34 year olds, the percentage reaches 14.9%.
