The Choosing the Family Movement responded reports that the Israel Electric Company will offer a NIS 30,000 grant to couples among its employees beginning a surrogacy process.
"Choosing the Family protests against the grant offered by the Electricity Workers' Union for trade in women. The right of a child to grow up in his biological mother's lap is far more important and meaningful than buying a parenting experience for those who chose not to bring a child into the world in the natural way and raise him with his mother.
"The Electric Company, together with the family-dismantling organizations, are bringing us back to the dark periods of child- and women-trafficking. This shameful phenomenon must be put to an end."
