Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu told the B'Sheva Conference on Tuesday that appealing to public opinion in the United States has helped him stand up to pressure from the US government, in comparison to predecessors, such as Israel's first prime minister, David Ben Gurion.

At the same time, Netanyahu said that he needed to appeal to Russian President Vladimir Putin to prevent an anti-Israeli decision by the United Nations against Israel, with the support of then US president Barack Obama.
