Knesset Member Moshe Ya'alon arrived yesterday to meet with residents of Gush Adumim on their struggle against an incinerator planned to be built in coming years near their communities.

At a meeting of about 150 residents of communities expected to be affected by the incinerator, MK Ya'alon said: "You are falling victim to the fact that things aren't planned. There's no environmental planning in Israel. In the Bay of Haifa, there are horrible morbidity rates that are hidden every time and people die as a result of this illness; it may reach you - and all because of a lack of planning."

Ya'alon made it clear that "there can be no incinerator nearby. At the end it's either the incinerator or Gush Adumim."

Ya'alon added that his party, Blue and White, was mobilized for the cause and that many figures in the party were concerned with environmental issues and will become active on the issue.
