Reducing age of exemption from IDF service will benefit haredi sector

Reducing the age of exemption from the IDF will benefit the haredi (ultra-orthodox) sector. This is the conclusion reached by Yohanan Plesner, president of the Israel Democracy Institute. Such a reduction in age for exemption from military service will allow haredi men to focus on professional training and careers as members of the work force instead of hiding behind questionable schemes for avoiding IDF enlistment.
