Natan Eshel, a confidante of Benjamin Netanyahu, said that the far right party Otzma Yehudit (Jewish power) will run in the coming elections even if it has no chance of winning Knesset seats. Eshel's remarks came after a conversation behind closed doors with Itamar Ben-Gvir, chairman of Otzma Yehudit. When Eshel asked "Will you compete until the end even if you know with absolute certainty that you will not have the total vote percentage necessary to win any seats?" Ben-Gvir answered, "Yes, I am in this until the end," and then added, "It's too bad the Likud (Netanyahu's party) cannot internalize the fact that the only way to prevent a fourth round of elections is with the four potential seats of Otzma Yehudit since only with us will there be a majority of 61 for a right wing government." (Note: a party must receive a minimum of 3.25% of total votes cast, which is currently around four seats, to sit in the Knesset.)
