MK Nir Barkat (Likud) warned in an interview on the joint election program of Israel Hayom and i24NEWS that a victory by a Democratic candidate in the upcoming US election and a victory by Benny Gantz in the Israeli election would hurt the ability to implement Trump's peace plan.
Asked if he was worried about the possibility of a Democrat winning the US presidential election, Barkat replied, "Of course, because we know that Trump can be trusted. I’m equally concerned that Gantz will win the election because Gantz will never be able to execute the plan because he depends on Ahmed Tibi."
Barkat added that he disapproves of parts of US President Donald Trump's peace plan, but Israel has no reason to worry since "the Palestinians do not miss an opportunity to miss an opportunity."
