Chief Justice Esther Hayes has instructed the manager of the court system and the Jerusalem Magistrates Court's president to hold an clarification session with Judge Sharon Larry-Bavli, who said during a detention hearing for Rabbi Eliezer Berland "Give him a Mentos [candy]" in response to words by Berland's lawyer about the rabbi's health.
The judge's words referred to recent complaints that Berland offering that brand of candy instead of medecine to people with serious illnesses.
