The Histadrut Hamorim teachers' union has welcomed the announcement by the national parents leadership that it will strike classes at all educational institutions across the country on Friday for one hour, as part of the fight against special-education reform.

A union statement called the strike, "an important step designed to advance the struggle for special education reform, whose sole purpose is an extreme cut in the special education budget. This will lead to the introduction of children into the education system without resources that will allow them to be integrated and without teacher training. This is not mainstreaming, It's abandonment."
