The US Senate voted Thursday to curtail the Trump administration's ability to use military force against Iran.
The measure, which was introduced by 2016 Democratic Vice Presidential candidate Tim Kaine (D-Virginia), was backed by the Senate's Democratic minority, along with eight Republican senators who crossed party lines to vote in favor of the resolution.
The resolution bars the US from using military force against Iran without explicit approval from Congress.
The House of Representatives, which passed a similar resolution last month, is expected to take up the resolution.
