The Religious Zionist task force that supports the haredi-religious United Torah Judaism parties is calling on Transportation Minister Bezalel Smotrich to act according to his legal powers and to stop the operation of public transportation on the Jewish Sabbath.
Responding to the phenomenon, which started recently in the Tel Aviv area, the task force has taken Smotrich to task for not saying anthing about it. It said, "Sign regulations that will immediately stop the desecration of the Sabbath - it is in your hands. Because [just as they say the law beyond the 1949 Armistice Line is like the law in Tel Aviv] the law of the Sabbath is like the law of the land of Israel."
