Mayor Moshe Leon of Jerusalem has decided that school and kindergardens will begin on Monday at 9 am, saying, "We're asking parents, transport drivers and students to exercise caution on their way to the educational institutions, and to be sure to dress in particularly warm clothing."
The decision followed a situation assessment in which the mayor was presented updated weather data - the expected cold intensity, surface and road ice accumulation, infrastructure status and availability of transportation.
