Transport Minister Bezalel Smotrich responded to a storm on social networks around the construction of a tefillin stall at one of the train stations.

"I innocently thought you came to improve the service of the train and not to engage in anti-Semitism and the persecution of Judaism.

"Let me make it clear: As long as I am the Minister of Transport, it is permitted and even desirable to place Jewish booths and tefillin at the train stations (and not only there). Have you tried to set up one and encountered difficulty? Contact me and we'll take care of it, Beezrat Hashem,” the minister wrote on Twitter.
