Transportation Minister Bezalel Smotrich and Jerusalem City Council Member Ofer Berkowitz agreed on Monday to promote the establishment of a team between their offices to bring about the training of people from the Arab and haredi-religious sectors as a solution to the shortage of bus drivers in the capital.

They also discussed mass transit between Jerusalem and outlying areas, which they said has become more important in the wake of the recently-unveiled United States diplomatic plan for Israel and the Palestinian Authority. Berkowitz also promoted extension of the high-speed train within Jerusalem.
