Deputy Director-General Itamar Grotto of the Health Ministry said, Sunday, that face masks were not necessarily efficient as protection against the coronavirus which has killed hundreds in China and the Far East.
Interviewed by 103FM radio from a meeting of the World Health Organization in Geneva, Professor Grotto explained that masks have to be changed every two hours. Noting that the virus can be transmitted by contact, he advised people to be strict about hygiene and wash their hands and avoid contact with someone suspected of having the virus.
