German President Frank-Walter Steinmeier has told Maariv that his country has not received any details about the "deal of the century" for peace between Israel and the Palestinian Authority. He said, "We and the European Union will get together, look at it and discuss it. We do not have many details. We will have to rely on our Israeli friends to drip updates to us. Tomorrow, the next day or later."

Asked if the EU response was not surprising in its moderation, the German President replied: "There seem to be details in the plan that are acceptable to some Arab countries. We need to see how to come up with a solution that will be acceptable to everyone."
