Mayor Eli Shviro of Ariel has comes out against the statement of the Yesha Council's leaders in Washington, DC against the United States peace plan for Israel and the Palestinian Authority, which is to be unveiled in a few hours.
Citing them for making the announcement unexpectedly, without updating "The chairman of the Yesha Council and a limited number of heads of government came out in a media announcement unexpectedly and without updating any of the other heads of the council's member communities, Shviro said, "I and other authority heads are of the opinion that this is an irresponsible statement as no one knows yet what the plan includes. We do know that applying sovereignty over the Jordan Valley and Judea and Samaria is a welcome step for the settlement and the State of Israel, too, even at the cost of declaring a Palestinian state to be built on 70% of Judea and Samaria, provided the State of Israel retains the right to safeguard our security interests."
