Attorneys Dror Matityahu and Ephraim Damri, who represent Member of Knesset David Bitan, said, following the announcement of the decision to prosecute Bitan, subject to a hearing, "MK Bitan never received any funds or benefits for actions related to his role as a public servant."

They added, "All decisions made by MK Bitan, while serving in public office, were important decisions on merits, made on the basis of professional judgment, when all he looked at was the public good. After the weighty evidence and allegations we have are revealed, the fog will disperse and a radically different picture will be revealed than that reflected in the letter of suspicion."
