Interior Minister Aryeh Deri signed a directive permitting Israelis to leave for Saudi Arabia for the first time, in accordance with his authority under section 7 of the Entry into Israel Law.

The decision is coordinated with the security forces, the Foreign Ministry, the NSC, and other relevant bodies, and will allow exit to Saudi Arabia for two occasions: leaving for religious worship during the Hajj and observance of Umrah. Exit for business meetings or to seek investment will be for up to 9 days, provided the applicant has arranged entry to Saudi Arabia and holds an invitation from an official.

Granting a permit to Saudi Arabia is conditional on there being no impediment to the applicant's exit from any other party.
