The official value of the shekel rose an average of .209 percent on Monday against most of the featured currencies on the Bank of Israel's foreign-exchange list.

The United States dollar was fixed at NIS 3.456, up .058 percent from Friday, while the Euro declined .395 percent to 3.8309 shekels and the pound sterlin was set at 4.4892, down .903 percent, following a weak report on retail sails in Britain.
