Just a year after work began, the Sderot Yehudit-Bicaron Bridge for pedestrians and non-motorized vehicles over Tel Aviv's Ayalon Highway corridor will open to the public on Monday.

The 65-million-shekel undertaking of the Tel Aviv municipality was supposed to start between August and October 2018 but was postponed due to the intervention of then-transportation minister Yisrael Katz, following pressure from haredi-religious parties regarding work on the Jewish Sabbath. Responding to a petition by the city, the Supreme Court made it clear to that Katz's decision was unreasonable and approved the work in its original form, which began last January.
