Yaffa Issachar, the mother of Israeli Naama Issachar, serving a prison sentence in Russia for possession of a small amount of marijuana, said, Thursday, "The prime minister told me that it is my responsibility to maintain Naama's mental health as long as she is in the Russian prison, and to be strong and optimistic that, as Israeli Prime Minister, he is committed to release Naama."

Yaffa continued, "I am optimistic now and ask with all my heart from the President of Russia to act as a true friend of Israel and the Jewish people, and as leader of a world power and release my Naama back to her home in Israel."
