The Jerusalem municipality has approved an estimated 30 million shekels in improvements for fans, players and officials at Teddy Stadium.

Last week, senior municipality officials and the management of the stadium's main occupant, the Betar Jerusalem soccer club, held an emergency meeting due to the small number of fans going to the team's home games in the Premier League because of what they called access problems, which prompted the Betar to consider relocating the home games to a stadium in the center of the country.
