Following recent desecration of the Jewish Sabbath for work in the light rail complex, Mayor Avraham Rubinstein of Bnei Brak sent a harsh letter on Sunday to NTA - Metropolitan Mass Transit System Limited, which is in charge of work on the site.
In the letter, Rubinstein emphasized that the very existence of work during the week is taking place under the auspices of a court order restricting the work that can be held on Saturday to life-saving cases and expressed hope that this was a one-time incident. Sources at the municipality, who spoke with Arutz Sheva, noted that the letter was an attempt to resolve the matter in a pleasant way with the new NTA management, saying that "should the matter not be taken seriously by the company, the municipality will not hesitate to stop work at the complex even during the week."
