Director-General Shmuel Meidad of the Honenu legal-aid organization sent a letter to Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu on Sunday, asking him to intervene in the case of Jewish youths, including a minor, who were recently detained by the Shabak Israel Security Agency on suspicion of crimes against Arabs.

At first, they were forbidden to meet an attorney and from the court hearings it emerged that the youths are undergoing aggressive and violent investigation. Meidad cited the agency for not taking lessons from recent court criticism of its methods. Refering to Netanyahu's legal situation, he wrote, "Anyone who complains late and night for selective enforcement, improper investigation and violation of his and his associates' rights must first of all clean up the stables he is responsible for." Meidad concluded, "As prime minister, you are responsible for both the ISA and the police, so you are solely responsible for the policy that determines who will investigate such cases and today you can act to rectify the injustices that continue in these moments."
