Labor Party Chairman Amir Peretz has told members of the faction about his decision to open talks with Meretz on a joint run in the elections and a Sunday-evening meeting with Chairman Nitzan Horowitz of the Democratic Union.
Peretz said, "What will determine things is the ability to bring 61 [Knesset seats] to the bloc without [the Yisrael Beytenu Party of Avigdor] Liberman." He also said, "Nothing has been agreed yet. We will be the main force that will make up the bloc of change and hope."
