US Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi (D) criticized Trump for the strike that killed Qassem Soleimani, saying:
"The Trump administration carried out an excessive strike on which could damage the US- without seeking congressional approval. We will pass a bill to limit his powers in military matters and force him to seek council with congress before he launches a strike."
