The haredi-religious Degel Hatorah Party said, following the latest round of government appointments, that it was passing on Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu's proposals to appoint party members to ministerial positions.
A party statement said, "According to a standing decision, Degel Hatorah [members will] not be appointed to ministerial positions. With regard to the roles of deputy ministers, the instruction is to take only positions that have influence and help. In light of the prime minister's inability to delegate powers to deputy ministers, we have informed the prime minister that, at this stage, we are rejecting the proposals that have been made."
