It was revealed during a discussion in the Knesset Finance Committee on Tuesday that the cost of the elections to the 22nd and 23rd Knesset is 1,263,000,000 shekels. This does not include indirect costs and the cost of the day off in the economy, which add about NIS6 billion.
Committee Chairman Moshe Gafni (Degel Hatorah) said: "It is a terrible thing that a civilized state is going to spend billions on an unnecessary and wasteful thing and the one who is guilty of it for the second time is (Yisrael Beytenu Party Chairman Avigdor] Liberman who must do introspection and fast."
