A representative of the Attorney General's Office has told a Supreme Court hearing on Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu's eligibility to form a government, despite the corruption indictments against him, "There is no reason to require [Attorney General Avichai] Mandelblit to respond to a theoretical petition that could have political ramifications."
The representative added, "This is a petition at the heart of the election campaign. It is an attempt to get the state justice system into the political issues. You only enter a minefield when you have no choice."
