Chief Justice Esther Hayut has come out against the petitioners' arguments during a Supreme Court hearing on Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu's eligibility to form a government, despite the corruption indictments against him.
The chief justice said, "There is no law preventing Netanyahu from running for election as party leader. He has a right to run. We do not know how the election results will be. Then the ball rolls over to the president of the state and he has to decide the assignment of forming a government by consultation and by the prospects."
