The leader of an Iranian-backed militia threatened the US, after American fighters bombed militia positions in Iraq and Syria.

Jamal Jaafar Ibrahimi, also known as Abu Mahdi al-Mohandes, vowed that his Kataib Hezbollah organization, an ally of the Lebanese terror group Hezbollah, would retaliate against the United States after airstrikes killed at least 25 and wounded at least 55.

“The blood of the martyrs will not be in vain and our response will be very tough on the American forces in Iraq,” Ibrahimi said.

The US struck five Kataib Hezbollah positions Sunday night - three in Iraq and two in Syria - after the militia launched rockets at a base housing American forces, killing one civilian contractor and injured several American service members.
