1,200-year-old gold cache uncovered in Yavne

During excavations by the Israel Antiquities Authority as part of a large-scale project to build a residential neighborhood initiated by the Israel Lands Authority, archaeologists were surprised to discover a small pottery jug containing gold coins from the Early Islamic period (9th century CE).
