Qatar-based former Hamas leader Khaled Mashaal plans to run for leadership of the terror organization in six months, according to Channel 11 News.
Hamas's internal elections should begin in the second half of 2020, with a gradual process that will take several months. Almost three years ago, Mashaal left in favor of Ismail Haniyeh from Gaza. It is estimated that Mashaal will offer Hania to be his deputy. Qatar and Turkey are pushing for Mashaal's election to strengthen their influence on the organization and move the center of Hamas decision-making out of Gaza.
