The Knesset Finance Committee has suspended funding of the Council for Higher Education due to the demand of the Ministry of Education to stop incorporating Torah into the academic.
Committee member Moti Yogev said, "We will stop any budgetary transfer to higher education until the council cancels its instruction to stop holy studies as part of the academic degree."
