Attorney General Avichai Mandelblit congratulated Deputy Central District Prosecutor Orly Ben-Ari Ginsberg on Sunday on her decision not to pursue her nomination by Justice Minister Amir Ohana to be Acting State Prosecutor.
Calling it an admired and courageous move, Mandelblit reiterated his professional appreciation from his meeting with Ben-Ari Ginsberg last Tuesday when she received the nomination but said his opposition to the appointment was based on a fundamental legal position regarding the process required to ensure the independence of the state prosecutor and public trust in this process.
