Chief Sephardic Rabbi of Israel Yitzchak Yosef landed in Paris on Sunday afternoon and was welcomed by the President Joel Margi of the Consistoire umbrella group of Jewish communities, as well as members of the community committee.

During his one-day visit, Rabbi Yosef is expected to inaugurate the new center of the Jewish community, participate in lighting in a central Chanukah candle lighting and lesson for all Jewish communities at the city's convention center. The rabbi is also expected to meet with Mayor Anne Hidalgo and discuss ways to prevent anti-Semitism and promote cooperation for the welfare of members of the Jewish communities.
