The Culture and Sports Ministry recently approved an unprecedented budget of NIS 30 million for the Druze Heritage Council in Israel to establish the Druze Heritage Center, which will operate for the first time in Israel, with national funding.

Today, a number of hosting centers operate, some of which feature Druze culture, and are privately operated. The new center will be initiated by the State and under the law and will be the official national center for Druze heritage in Israel and worldwide.

It was announced that the center is to include a Druze Heritage Research Institute that will work to deepen and enrich knowledge in all matters related to Druze heritage, history, and culture. The Institute will also operate a research and reference library that will serve the general public.
