President Reuven Rivlin eulogized former Knesset member Geulah Cohen at her funeral saying, "As a youth, you were for us one of the heroes of the people," explaining, "In our minds we saw your face above the bars of the prison, your body imprisoned but your spirit released and saying the Shehechiyanu blessing because you saw the end [with] the British flag lowered and the Israeli flag hoisted."
Rivlin added, "In the Knesset too, you did not stop being Geulah. You continue the fight for the redemption [Geulah in Hebrew -ed.] of the Land of Israel and the people."
