Water prices will rise by an average of 2.86% and not 3.04%, as announced last Thursday.

The Water Authority reported this increase was intended to enable continued investments in the national water economy, including establishing advanced wastewater treatment plants and implementing Mekorot's development plan that includes upgrading, constructing, and promoting water systems.

"Despite this moderate increase and despite the fact that more than 50% of Israel's water for all uses is man-made in desalination plants and water purification and recycling plants for agriculture, the water tariff and sewage in Israel are among the lowest in the world," the Authority says.
