Attorney General Avichai Mandelblit said goodbye to Shai Nitzan at a ceremony at the Justice Ministry, "My partner Shai Nitzan today ended a glorious career of over 30 years in the Justice Ministry.
"It is evident to everyone who worked with Shai that from the day he first set foot in the Justice Department building and until Monday when he turned in his card, he did his job with vigor and a sense of purpose, for the purpose of fulfilling all of us.
"Shai stood out as a fighter for his opinions, but once a decision was made we had to represent it even if we saw difficulties in defending it. There were instances when we disagreed, that is right and appropriate. The thinking needs to be challenged, but once the court decision was made, we worked together to promote it."
