An IDF spokesperson confirmed that troops thwarted an attempted terror attack near Beit Lechem, saying:
"IDF troops thwarted an attempted terror attack after spotting a terrorist hurling a firebomb at Israeli vehicles adjacent to the town of Beit Jala, West of Bethlehem. The troops fired towards the terrorist and a hit was identified. The terrorist attempted to escape and the troops pursued him and apprehended him."
