Minister of Public Security Gilad Erdan (Likud), said at the memorial ceremony for the Carmel disaster victims, that he intends to appoint a new permanent commissioner for the Police.
"About a year ago, when the Knesset was dispersed, I thought that a permanent commissioner for the police service should not be appointed. Now I have applied to the Attorney General for permission to appoint a Commissioner. A permanent appointment will help us to give better security to Israeli citizens, "Erdan said.
